- See and Be Seen: Wear bright colors when riding day or night, and have reflectors on your bicycle. Remember, just because you can see a driver doesn’t mean he sees you.
- Avoid Road Hazards: Look out for potholes, broken glass, gravel, puddles, leaves and dogs.
- Avoiding Riding at Night: It’s far more dangerous to ride at night than during the day.
- Obey the Rules of the Road: Bicycles are vehicles and cyclists have the same rights and the same responsibilities to follow the rules of the road as motorists.
