Charles “Tink” Jackson, BIO

Charles “Tink” Jackson has served as the Pearsall City Manager since March of 2016. Prior to being selected to lead Pearsall City Government, Mr. Jackson served as the Luna County Manager in Deming, New Mexico for two years. Prior to becoming a local government manager, he served as the District Supervisor for the New Mexico State Engineers Office in Deming, New Mexico for 8 years after spending many years as a resource specialist in the same department. Mr. Jackson was previously employed as a manager in the private sector and as a high school educator.

Mr. Jackson has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Agriculture and Education and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from New Mexico State University.

Throughout his career, Mr. Jackson has served on numerous state and national committees and state legislative task forces. His work related to minimizing federal impacts on local government in relation to endangered species was widely recognized throughout the western United States during his time in New Mexico. He was recently elected to serve as the 2018-2019 Texas City Management Association (TCMA) Region 8 Secretary/Treasurer and serves on the TCMA statewide Ethics Committee.

He was born and raised just outside of the copper mining town of Hurley, New Mexico on a small farm and ranch.
