Our mission is to provide an expedient, courteous, and dependable service to our citizens and to devote our best efforts to ensure that all garbage is properly picked up and disposed.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The City does not own a landfill and therefore contracts its solid waste disposal with an outside independent contractor. Currently, the City is contracted with Texas Disposal System to collect and dispose of residential and commercial solid waste within its city limits. The City also provides these same services to customers within its extra-territorial jurisdiction. The City’s Garbage Department operates and maintains the transfer waste collection station located on Loma Vista Road and Gilliam Road. This facility is currently opened Wednesdays thru Saturdays and is available to citizens for disposing of their waste other than household garbage at a cost per yard. City customers can also dispose of tree limbs and brush at this facility during hours of operation. As an additional complementary service to its customers, the Garbage Department also coordinates and conducts a semi-annual city-wide clean-up. These costly complementary services are currently provided at no charge to our customers.
